For example, mechanised loading and unloading, automated load-unit (or ULD) transport and remote Control Room operations all allow airports to move staff out of harm’s way and into ergonomic, air-conditioned spaces. All while the phased rollout of autonomous guided vehicles will dramatically reduce the need for manual driving in baggage halls and on aprons.
