What you will do as a Junior Aeronautical/Airport Systems Engineer

As a Junior Aeronautical/Airport Systems Engineer, you will form part of the the Air Traffic Management Systems (ATM)/Airfield Systems team and work with our colleagues in Airport Systems. With your background and knowledge in electronic/ telecommunications systems and processes you would provide the support to our systems team while having the opportunity to garner or further develop your experience in consultancy services within the Aviation industry.

 

While providing Aeronautical/Airfield Systems solutions for our clients you would address individual aspects and/or specific systems. You assist in the provision of project solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment and airport operational processes. 

 

As a member of our Airport Systems and specifically the ATM Systems team based in the Netherlands you will work on projects around the world and:

  • Assist in study and design projects and take responsibility for project results and deliverables.
  • Help grow our business, ATM solutions, develop and expand the capabilities in the field of ATM/Airfield Systems.
  • Assist in other Airport Systems related consultancy services.

In this position you will perform the following tasks as part of the ATM team:

  • Developing functional and technical designs for systems that include (but not limited) Navigational Aids, Aeronautical/Air Traffic Control Systems, Airside Communications Systems and Meteorological Systems.
  • Developing Aeronautical/ATM Systems strategies and providing input for airport master plans.
  • Assist where possible on other Airport Systems (including ICT Systems).
  • Assist in making proposals for new projects and tenders.
  • Study and apply relevant international standards and regulations (ICAO, Eurocontrol, FAA, etc).
  • Keep informed about the latest developments in airport systems, ATM and related technologies.

We run our aviation business from our “head office” in The Hague, The Netherlands supported by our offices in Canada, United States and South Africa.

 

What you bring

Working in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams spread across different countries is no problem for you. You have a knack for technical work on systems and would like to further explore this domain in the world of aviation and further professionalize yourself there. Besides that, you have:

  • A relevant Bachelor or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (in airports), Telecommunications/Electronic/Systems or similar related Engineering field.
  • An affinity for the systems domain with some experience/exposure in aviation as an added bonus.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English; additional languages will be considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in ATM/Aeronautical Systems (such as navigational aids, air traffic control systems etc) or with telecommunication systems (radio, control and instrumentation, ICT or similar) related to aviation is an added bonus.
