- Sustainability
Contributing to sustainable airport development lies at the heart of our mission. We are committed to the development of sustainable solutions for a wide range of airport related issues and continuously work on fine-tuning our sustainable and innovative approach.
Sustainability requires an integrated and collaborative approach, where the three P's (People, Profit, Planet) come together. We promote an approach that is explicit in terms of project requirements and transparent in the choices made in the design or development process. We believe that this is the best way to achieve a measurable impact on the sustainable performance of the airport. This has proven to be effective for a constructive dialogue with the airport community at large.
We prefer to make a sound connection with the strategy of our Clients. In this we depend on clarity of management approaches and data on performance indicators. We seek guidance from the GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines for airports, which are ready to be released through the course of 2011 by the Global Reporting Initiative GRI (www.globalreporting.org). NACO has actively contributed to these guidelines throughout a two-year, multi-stakeholder development process.
Every project is unique and therefore we do not know in advance what our solutions will be. However, our approach for capital investments or organizational change programs within an airport is focused on sustainability from the beginning so that opportunities for sustainable solutions and innovations can not be missed.
